Introduction

Uncle Ted Laxton is a proud Gunditjmara man, an Elder, and a Stolen Generations survivor. He is a founding member of the Pitcha Makin Fellas art collective, which began in Ballarat in 2013. Alongside his fellow members Aunty Alison McRae and Jack Shilvock, his artwork is held in prestigious collections including the National Gallery of Victoria and the United Nations in Geneva. Uncle Ted is a powerful storyteller and artist, with his tongue-in-cheek humour and use of bright colours and signature stamp to share messages about caring for Country, culture and community.
