Introduction

As well as being a decades long and ongoing antiwar activist, Castlemaine resident Sandra Goldbloom Zurbo is a Second Wave feminist, a writer who has published a novel, The Book of Rachel (Allen&Unwin), a memoir, My Father’s Shadow (Monash University Press), and short stories and poetry that have been published in literary magazines. To earn a crust, she has, for the past forty-five years, worked as a freelance non-fiction editor. She continues to write, has recently learnt to bake bread and uses her very green thumb to create beautiful gardens.
