Opening weekend highlights – Saturday

We are so grateful to everyone who braved the crazy weather on the weekend and joined us for a heartwarming, soul nourishing, intellect enhancing weekend.

The festival kicked off with a beautiful Welcome to Country by Rebecca Phillips of Dja Dja Wurrung.

Then Arnold Zable held the room captive with his stories as he explored the Humanising Power of Story.

The rest of the weekend was jam packed with events, but here are just a few of the highlights from the Festival Hub…

Cate Kennedy giving the audience great tips on how to write a good story,

Ross McMullin reading excerpts from his book about Pompey Elliot, one of Australia’s most famous and controversial military leaders,

David Holmgren in conversation with Cate Kennedy,

with captivating musical interludes from Charlie McGee

Next we had Miin Chan MC a panel of passionate bakers and growers talking about Slow Grains,

Then a lovely intimate conversation Mika Pediaditis and Marieke Hardy to round off the evening at the Hub.
