Ross Gillett is an award winning Australian poet who lives in Daylesford. His book The Mirror Hurlers was published by Puncher and Wattmann in late 2019 but has not had a hometown reading. His next book, Swimmer in the Dust, is due out from the same publisher in August. Ross’s event for Daylesford Words in Winter 2022 will be a reading from both books, and will in fact be the first launch of Swimmer in the Dust nationwide. His poems address a wide range of experience – relationships, metaphysics, the natural world – and are noted for their combination of intensity, complexity and clarity, making for an entertaining and moving event. The program will include time for questions and discussion.
