Nurturing the future of poetry

Tim Loveday and Eloise Grills will read extracts from their individual poetic works, and will freely discuss how these works were shaped through mentorships, offering insights to writers trying to develop their work. For context, Eloise Grills taught Tim Loveday through RMIT’s Creative Writing, where Tim now teaches Poetry.

Tim Loveday is a multi-award-winning poet. He has won the Venie Holmgren Poetry Prize and the Dorothy Porter Prize. Eloise Grills is a writer, visual artist and poet living on Dja Dja Wurrung land. Her book, big beautiful female theory, was shortlisted for the 2023 Stella Prize.
Words in Winter is an annual literary and arts festival held in August each year in the Hepburn Shire and surrounding districts.
