Georgie and her Small Troupe of Marionettes Show to be followed by Claire Clifton and Fiona who will read part of their children’s stories aloud.
Georgie and her small troupe of marionette puppets will be sharing a series of short stories exploring courage, kindness and hope. Through narrative storytelling accompanied by whimsical music and creative puppetry, these performances will take audiences on little adventures into magical worlds.

Georgie will be sharing a series of short stories, including ‘The Boy Who Lost His Light’, an illuminating tale of resilience and hope as our hero travels deep into the dark forest to seek the light for his lantern, ‘The Girl Who Faced Her Fear’, exploring bravery and the discovery of unlikely friendships along the way, and ‘The Late Bloomer’, reminding us that all things grow in their own time.

Readings by Daylesford locals:
Claire Clifton will read from her book, The Magical Flying Hippopotamus for the young and the young at heart. Join Princess Audrey on her quest to find her very own Magical Flying Hippopotamus. Ably assisted by Master Spike the most rare golden tipped echidna, the 2 friends devise a plan to remind Hippy the Hippopotamus how to overcome his fear of flying. A place of Kings, Queens, Magic and Friends and a reminder that dreams really can come true.
Fiona Robertson will read one of her children’s stories.

Georgie will also offer a playful and engaging workshop to follow the event that will allow participants of budding puppeteers to have an introduction into the wonderful world of puppetry including bringing marionette characters to life through movement and interactive activities, children will also be supported to create their own simple shadow puppets and mini theatres.

Georgie Rose is a storyteller, artist and puppeteer working from her studio in Mt. Franklin. Georgie loves to share the magic of puppetry through her thoughtful and whimsical performances, innovative and interactive workshops and original creations. An active member of the Puppetsmithery group, she constructs puppets for commission and has worked with various theatres, art centres and puppet companies, working solo and also collaboratively. Georgie has trained and performed both locally and internationally, although she has experience with many different types of puppetry, her passion is for shadow puppets and marionettes.
